Durkovic Marian
Marian Durkovic has been involved in operation of the Slovak Academic Network SANET (www.sanet.sk) since 1995. As a member of networking team at Slovak University of Technology, he co-founded Slovak Internet Exchange (www.six.sk) in 1996 and has been in charge of SIX technical development. In 1998, he was elected chairman of SANET's Board of Administrators and since then has been responsible for SANET's network architecture. He also coordinated transition of SANET network from leased lines to dark fibre during 2001 - 2003 and initiated cross-border dark fibre connections to neighbouring academic networks. Since 2008 he has been coordinating technical aspects of SANET to Schools project, which aims at connecting secondary schools to SANET network by gigabit ethernet. |
